XIXth European Congress of the EFBS in Prague

The XIXth European Congress of the European Federation of Building Societies took place in Prague
on 17 and 18 October 2019.
The motto of this congress was
„Housing finance: addressing regulation, low interest rates, and digitisation”.
European housing finance professionals find themselves in a challenging market environment: new regulatory demands and persistently low interest rates weigh down earnings. Dynamic price development in housing markets increases the risk that financing for housing may prove to be unsustainable. Along with these challenges is increasing digitisation which requires high investment on the one hand and also opens doors to new players in the housing finance sector who may gain an edge with customers through lean and cost-effective processes.
Against this backdrop, this congress offered insights into the latest market trends, as well as challenges in the housing finance field. The congress delegates enjoyed exciting presentations and stimulating discussions.
